KOTC -2010
By
sophie (bbprincess7)
The King of the Courts or I should say “the King of the Heat wave”, was great.
The temperature was relentless with its unbearable humidity. Despite that it was
an exceptionally successful tournament, with 65 gladiators competing, and
hundreds of onlookers speckled in the sidelines of Liberty Park. Next year
please offer dinner, with the mob eating everything in the house we still had
room for more at 9PM. The event was a 12 hour marathon of back to back play.
Spectators got their moneys worth with players at all levels, wrestling the ball
late into the night hours.
My favorite event was when Loweens beat Dave Chapman (#2 in the World for
4-wall). Will we see that post where anywhere else but streetplay.com? Ha, I
don’t think so! Best sportsmanship has to go to Wally from Philly. This guy was
classy, he had this I’m just doing what I love demeanor about him. He let a lot
of questionable plays just run off his shoulders, and stayed poised till his
demise by opponent Tywan from Brooklyn. Philadelphia represented exceptionally
well with a go down blazing attitude.
HHH (Justin), Who is this guy? He was very impressive almost beating the human
torch. I was like wow!
Gio fancies a fast game, when he beat Justin under half an hour, my jaw dropped.
George is genetically designed to play handball, he is amazing. Almost twice the
age of his opponents and still a very ominous threat till this day!
Oh Rookie you deserve a paragraph all unto yourself. He really studies his
opponents and understands that when all hands are equal, call upon your inner
chakra to help you. In his case it was his towel, if you noticed at ever point,
he took a wipe. Using the weather to his advantage, no one would question why he
took frequent breaks to wipe the sweat off him. At midnight, the finals were
still roaring, and it was a scorching 94 degrees outside! His greatest strength
was using his sweat to slow down the Hare (Gio). He made Gio slow down better
than any of his opponents, so the game fit to his style of play leading to the
inevitably victory. This old tortoise (Rookie) would conquer, Rookie, you are
the king of the court and the master of mind games!
Kotc Results are as follow.
1- John "Rookie" Wright
2- Giovanni Vasquez
3- Tywan Cook
4- Justine Richie
5- Anthony Ditore
6- George Fiqueroa
7- Wally Amares
8- Sam Sampson

Rookie did a great Job hosting the event as the man on the microphone, he was
announcing games as they began, there was a DJ playing music all day long, the
Red Bulls were in unlimited supply, I had more then 20 red bulls yesterday, and
I went home and pissed out smoke, what the hells in that stuff?? anyway I had a
great time and was glad to participate in the pump ball division, some people
has there complaints about the payout, but I don't, you know what your getting
into before you get there, the tournament is free, and because there are
